Cityvarasto acquires a property in Herttoniemi – growth in the Helsinki metropolitan area continues
Cityvarasto Plc continues its growth in the Helsinki metropolitan area by acquiring the leasehold rights to a property located at Sorvaajankatu 13, 00880 Helsinki from Conficap Oy. The transaction includes the leasehold right to a plot of approximately 4,400 m² and a warehouse building of approximately 6,000 m², originally completed in 1973.
The current tenants of the property will continue their operations normally, and Cityvarasto’s self-storage hotel will be opened in the vacant spaces.
“We have operated in Herttoniemi for over 15 years. Above all, the investment reflects our belief that demand in the area will remain strong in the future. Herttoniemi and its surrounding areas are expected to grow significantly in the coming years, and we want to ensure that we can meet the increasing demand,” says Ville Stenroos, CEO of Cityvarasto Plc.
Herttoniemi is one of the most important business districts in Helsinki, and the population of the area is also expected to grow in the coming years. The location of the property also supports the business activities in the area as well as urban logistics needs.
“The population in Herttoniemi and nearby areas is expected to increase in the coming years, and we see significant growth potential there. At the same time, we believe Herttoniemi’s role will strengthen as a hub for urban logistics. The area is well suited for various wholesale operations, for example, and we want to be part of this development,” Stenroos continues.
The new property supports the company’s strategy to expand its service network, particularly in growth areas.
