Skanska has signed several agreements with the City of Stockholm Development Office to carry out development work in the Hagastaden district. The total contract value amounts to about SEK 340M, which will be included in the order bookings for the second quarter of 2026.
The existing contract between the parties for the design phase (Phase 1) is now being supplemented with several agreements for the construction phase (Phase 2). The agreements cover groundworks and civil engineering works on streets including Norra Stationsgatan and Uppsalavägen, involving the relocation and installation of utility lines and cables as well as final landscaping. The agreements also encompass bridge repairs, the construction of new roadways at the Haga Norra interchange, and foundation and concrete work for a new pedestrian and cycle bridge. Separate contracts will be drawn up later for the remaining parts of the project.
The design phase was characterized by a clear innovation perspective to optimize methods and materials and drive effective solutions that reduce climate impact.
The project has high sustainability goals and will be certified according to BREEAM Infrastructure. All vehicles and work machines will be powered by 100% fossil-free fuels.
The work will start immediately, and the contract deadlines are autumn 2028, autumn 2026 and summer 2028. The entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2030.
